Rendair is an architectural platform designed to generate high-quality renderings for architect studios and real estate companies. Still in its early stages, we transformed and expanded the product, leveraging emerging technology to create an AI specifically designed to generate interior and exterior design renders.

The Initial Challenge

Upon joining the team in 2021, I took on the responsibility of evolving an MVP into a fully functional, scalable product.

I collaborated with stakeholders and developers to define improvement priorities. During this process, one of the key pain points identified was the Render Review Page, where users provided feedback on renders.

Redesigning the Comment Component

One of the most pressing issues was the comments section, which needed to accommodate detailed feedback while remaining intuitive and non-intrusive.

I introduced a balloon-shaped comment design, which more effectively represented its purpose. The new component could accommodate various attachments while remaining concise.

Page Key Improvements

  • Expanded the render display area to improve visibility and user interaction.

  • Streamlined navigation within the render carousel by decluttering redundant elements and enhancing name legibility.

  • Updated the overall aesthetics, incorporating modern UI elements.

Rendair AI: Launching a Game-Changing Tool in 15 Weeks

Rendair had already established itself as a trusted platform with a loyal customer base. However, its market remained highly specialized, catering primarily to high-profile architecture firms and real estate agencies.

While the business was stable, its growth potential was constrained by the high cost associated with traditional rendering methods.

The Design Process

At the time, ChatGPT had been launched just a few months earlier, and AI tools like Gemini and MidJourney were emerging. There were no established standards or design patterns for AI-driven interfaces.

I made the strategic decision to use the brand’s purple colour as the primary colour in the Render AI interface, in order to:

  • Create a visual distinction from the traditional rendering service, which remained available.

  • Utilize a darker palette to convey a sense of innovation and cutting-edge technology.

Products must continuously adapt to new technologies and people evolving needs. In Rendair's case, the results speak for themselves:

  • Registered users grew from 400 to over 60,000.

  • AI-generated renders surpassed 750,000.

As of December 2024.

Working at Rendair was an incredibly rewarding experience, allowing me to expand my knowledge and apply my skills in a real-world setting.
